At Youth Leading in STEM we are passionate about improving STEM educational outcomes and science communication skills for students in Year 9 and Year 10 from regional, low-SES and disadvantaged schools in NSW and the ACT. We host a 2.5-day event at the ANU to help accomplish this, an event full of educational workshops from various ANU Departments and group projects in engineering and programming. This is followed by a mentorship program for the remainder of the year. The dates for this year’s YLS event are 21-23 June 2018. We are a joint initiative of Engage University Outreach, Robogals ANU and Engineers Without Borders (ACT), sponsored by the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science, the ANU Joint College of Sciences and Inspiring the ACT. We are also collaborating with Teach for Australia to train our mentors and to deliver the mentorship program.
Please see our ‘What We Do’ page for more information.
